 Let us now calculate the cost of a pad footing as shown below.

Given data:

Footing size = 2000mm. × 1500mm.= 2m. × 1.5m.

Depth of the footing = 300mm. = 0.3m. 

Grade of concrete = M20.

A. Material cost

1. Concrete:

 The volume of concrete in the footing

= [ L × B × D]

= [2m. × 1.5m. × 0.3m.]

= 0.9 CUM.

The material cost of M20 grade concrete = INR 6065.42/ CUM.

The material cost of footing concrete 

= [vol. of concrete in CUM × rate/ CUM]

= [0.9 × 6065.42/-]

= INR 5458.88/-

2. Steel:

Let us consider the reinforcement in the footing as shown in the below-given drawing.

The total weight of the steel used in the footing = 42.709 kgs.

The material cost of steel

= [total wt. in kgs. × steel rate/kg.]

B. Labor cost:

The total labor cost of footing = INR 1393.80/-
