MS T - bar. |
Given data:
Flange width = w = 60mm. = 0.06m.
Flange thickness = t = 6mm.= 0.006m.
Web depth = h = 60mm.= 0.06m.
Web thickness = b = 6mm.= 0.006m.
Let us calculate the vol. & wt. of the MS T-bar for 1m length.
MS T-bar length = L = 1m.
Calculation:
Now, the area of the flange ( brown colored)
A1 = [flange width (w) × flange thickness (t) ]
= [60mm × 6mm.]
Converting it into meters,
= [ 0.06m × 0.006m.]
A1 = 0.00036 sq.m.
The area of the web (blue-colored area )
A2 = [{web depth - flange thickness} × web thickness]
= [ { h - t } × b]
= [{60mm - 6mm} × 6mm.]
= [54mm. × 6mm.]
Converting them into meters,
=[ 0.054m × 0.006m ]
A2 = 0.000324 sq.m.
Total sectional area
A = area of flange (A1) + area of the web (A2)
=0.00036 + 0.000324
= 0.000684 sq.m.
Now, the volume of the T -bar
= [Area (A) × Length (L)]
= [0.000684sq.m. × 1m.]
= 0.000684 m³.
Weight of MS T - bar
= [volume × density]
= [0.000684 m³× 7850 kg/m³.]
(Here, the density of steel is taken as 7850kg/m³ for calculation purposes.)
= 5.369kg.
The weight of T - bar / RMT = 5.369 kg.
