Let us consider 12 × 12 gauge barbed wire with 4" barb spacing for fencing the land.
The fencing wire runs in 5 layers through the hole (1.5") provided in the RCC fencing pole at 9" c/c distance from each other.
So, the total length of the barbed wire
= perimeter of the land × number of layers
= (( 2nos × 50ft.) + (2nos × 80ft.)) × 5 layers= ( 100ft. + 160 ft.) × 5 nos.
= 260ft. × 5 nos.
= 1300 ft.
Let us take 5% extra for tying purpose
The total length of barbed wire required
= 1300 ft. +( 5 ÷ 100) × 1300ft.
= 1300ft. + 65 ft.
= 1365 ft.
= 416 meter.
Total weight of the barbed wire
= 0.148 kg/m × 416m.
= 61.57 kg.
